You have these coins in your pocket.  How much money do you have? 5 pennies,3 nickels, 2 dimes, 1 quarter

Wednesday – Statistics and Probability

If you are told there are a total of 100 red and blue colored balls in a bag.  You are not told how many are red and how many are blue – just that the total is 100.  You draw 10 times from the bag (returning the ball each time) and each time you draw red!  Which statement would be true:

  1. It is likely that there are many more red balls than blue balls.
  2. It is likely there are the same number of red and blue balls.
  3. It is certain that the bag contains only red balls.
  4. It is certain that the bag contains only blue balls.

 


 

Thursday – Calculations and Estimations

There are three containers with beans.  One has 126, the second has 240 and the third has 98.  Which would be an appropriate estimate of the number of total beans?

Friday – Algebraic Relationships

Four kids on wheeled cycles went by my house.  I counted 11 wheels.  How many bicycles went by and how many tricycles went by?
