CyberSchool
Targeted at high-end motivated kids, not targeting credit recovery. Trying to provide rich online content to small Oregon schools. Not offering core offering courses which are better done in brick and mortar. Every language available in every school.
Teachers own vast majority of the own courses. When they lose the teacher they lose the course. Independent contractors as teachers with other schools. Purchase, or rent courses from the teachers directly.
Own American Sign Language, Artline, Technical Writing, Math on the Web, Social Studies on the Web. All other courses owned by teachers. Not for sale, instead desires to enroll students directly.
Content to stay 9-12. Partners with 5 other districts. Meridian School District (Idaho) staff development.
Taking on Spanish for Spanish speakers and convert website and some courses into Spanish.
Tom Layton will do summer training effort for Spanish and other languages. Uses streaming audio as well as real-time video.
U. of O. Projects Connects for learning disabled children, two courses testing at Churchill High (history and math). Based on ColdFusion server therefore usability may be a problem.

How do we share with outlying schools? Pay tuition?
Stressing co-operation and collaboration, Mary Jean suggested that SK Online will share course content at no cost. Marcia and NetSchool is willing to do the same and use their server to host Academic Systems at cost.
For those sharing resources, additional enhancements such as server hosting, and teaching staff needs will need to be covered.
Two levels: free content and supported by teachers by tuition/inter-district agreement.
