Choose two of them, list them, and write how you can personally apply them in the near future (i.e. explain how you would go about achieving both concepts).

  2. Based on your observations of your own actions, complete the following.

Describe three situations of interacting with people, explaining how you responded. After you state what your response was, be sure to label each one of your responses according to which one of these it is: assertive, aggressive, or passive. If all three are the same type, That's OK. Since you will be making assertive statements (in the next exercise below) for each of these three situations, it is recommended that you choose three for which you would not have much difficulty in coming up with assertive statements. You should check with the lesson ahead of time to see What's involved in assertive statements.

Please note that an assertive statement is spoken to the person with whom you are interacting, so you will write it as though you are talking directly to that person. Please make sure that you include the 3 aspects required for every assertive statement, as described in the lesson. Remember that the following are to be included:
    1. State your position:
    2. State your reason:
    3. Identify the other person's feelings

Don't use 'want,' 'like' or 'dislike' for the feelings part. If they really want something, then describe how they must feel when they don't get it.
